Massillon Massillon is a city on the Tuscarawas River about 8 miles west of Canton, with 32,146 residents at the 2020 Census. Incorporated in 1853, it grew as an industrial center thanks to the Ohio and Erie Canal and later the railroads, with steel and machinery manufacturing driving its economy.
