North Canton North Canton is a city in Plain Township with 17,842 residents at the 2020 Census. First platted in 1831 as the village of New Berlin, it took its current name in 1918 and became a city in 1962. It was the longtime home of The Hoover Company, whose history is shown at the Hoover Historical Center.
